Out of all the places I've eaten in Maui, Paia Fish Market was the best. It's a casual joint with long line ups but it moves very quick
I highly recommend the fish tacos and fish and chips.
Very juicy fish.

Sharpy

A very popular seafood stand in Kalama Village on South Kihei Road.
The line up can be long during lunch and dinner rush. Very touristy. Might be difficult for a large group to find seating.
Place your order at counter, grab a seat, and wait for food to be delivered to your picnic table.
Lots of seafood varieties to choose from with different preparations like grilled, seasoned or breaded (you won’t find beer battered fish here).
The Fish & Chips are breaded Mahi Mahi sticks and thick and juicy. The fries are thin fast-food style.
The Blackened Cajun Fish Burger is good served with coleslaw, tomato, and shredded cheese.
Food is fresh and decent.
Both portion and price are reasonable (about $20 per dish).
Caution: they add an automatic gratuity to orders of six or more (and it’s a self serve place).

One of my main food objectives when I was in Hawaii was to taste the fish available there that I couldn’t have at home, so I was really excited to go to Paia Fish Market for dinner with AngryRussian’s friends one night. The way they do things here is, you order at the counter, then you get a seat, and they’ll bring your food to you. Drinks you serve yourself, unless it’s alcohol.
